AgInnovate is a specialist ‘people in agriculture’ consultancy based in South Australia. We work across Australia with family farming businesses, researchers, government organisations and corporates to develop motivated and skilled teams; and projects that engage and create change on-farm. We are passionate about Australian agriculture and the people in it.

AgInnovate began in 2013 in Narrogin, Western Australia and since then it has worked with most of Australia’s agricultural RDE organisations. The company was born to satisfy the need for a consultancy business which could provide more flexible working conditions for rurally based agricultural professionals who wanted to balance professional roles with family and farming commitments.

About the Role

We are looking for someone who is passionate about agriculture, with a marketing and/or events background who’ll provide strategic and practical advice to boost AgInnovate’s marketing and event efforts.

You’ll organise all our events and design and implement our marketing strategy. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and knowledgeable in everyday marketing and event management activities. We are looking for an excellent communicator with lots of enthusiasm who is ready to make a difference to the Australian agricultural industry.

This is a fixed-term part-time role (16 hours per week) with a contract end date of 30th June 2024 with the potential for more hours and a contract extension. This role is based in South Australia however the role is open to the right applicant based in any other Australian state. You will be required to work from home (a home office reimbursement will be paid).

Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duties for this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy according to objectives and budget. This  includes a combination of presentations, social media, print, and web-based marketing  materials

  • Manage the AgInnovate website and work with AgInnovate consultants to keep the  website current

  • Manage design and implementation of logo, colour palette, website, marketing  collateral and power point templates

  • Develop and implement CMS marketing guidelines

  • Coordinate and manage events for AgInnovate. This includes training and marketing  events, webinars, forums, and conferences. This includes liaising with event suppliers  and venues, and event promotion.

  • Some interstate travel may be required to support our consultants

About You

The successful candidate will display the following experience, skills, and attributes:


Essential skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in either communication, marketing, event management, agriculture or a related field are essential.

  • Graphic design skills including use of Canva, Adobe and other design programs

  • Highly skilled in the development and maintenance of Wix websites including its on-line  booking and newsletter platforms

  • Fluent in the use of Zoom, Calendly and Monday

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft programs

  • Australian driver’s licence


Desired skills and experience

  • Understanding of the Australian agricultural, horticultural, and pastoral industries • Self-motivated and ability to work as part of a remote team
